Jane Puhlman is on the full-time faculty of the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department at the University of Maine. In addition, she is a practicing Speech Language Pathologist who has been working with families and children who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing for over ten years. Her philosophy of practice when providing speech therapy is : "Language first! I don’t care how you get there!” - She will use all strategies (spoken or visual) to ensure that children learn language and are able to communicate with their families. Her research is centered around the language and literacy development of children who are D/HH and best practices in early intervention.
